BREWSTER

Open House at Brewster Adventist Christian School

Prospective students and parents are invited to an open house at the Brewster Adventist Christian School at 115 Valley Road beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday May 16. Next school year will include a new tenth-grade program offering accredited classes taught by experienced teachers.

Brewster senior bingo resumes

The Brewster Senior Center is resuming its Bingo-potluck evenings at 6 p.m., on the third Wednesday of each month. The first meeting will be May 17.

Friday night pinochle

The pinochle group only had seven players, and we had a fun time. Corky Crofton won High & Traveler, Jeannie Johnson won Low, and Ellen Ritchey won the door prize. We really have fun, lots of laughter, you don't have to be a great player, just have a good time come and join us. We start at 6:30 p.m., so get there a bit early. Brewster Senior Center on Friday eve.

Seeking alumni

Brewster High School's graduating class of 1973 is requesting contact information for Mark Carlson, Kevin Franke, Bruce Peterson, Bob Salazar and Frank Webster. Our 40th year class reunion is scheduled for Aug. 9-10. Anyone with information may call Carlee Lawless at 670-5959 or 689-0955.

BRIDGEPORT

3-on-3 tourney

Bridgeport is hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament June 1 as a part of Bridgeport Daze this year. Team entry is $ 55. Each player gets a shirt and the winners get champion t-shirts and engraved basketball. Signups are open and end May 26. You can pick up an entry form at Bridgeport High School or email bridgeportsportsbooster@gmail.com.

Kindergarten registration

If you have a child in our school district or know someone who has a child who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, please call 509-686-2201 or stop by the Elementary School office for a registration packet and to schedule a date for kindergarten screening.

PATEROS

Birthday celebration

The city of Pateros will celebrate its 100th birthday at 5 p.m., May 21 in Memorial Park in Pateros.

The celebration is intended for local residents and will include a birthday cake. Organizers ask attendees to bring a favorite potluck dish to share with neighbors. A group photo will be taken at 6 p.m. and the Pateros Jr./Sr. High School Concert band will begin their concert in the part at 6:30 p.m.

Men's Golf

50th celebration

Wells Dam will host its 50th Anniversary Celebration May 14. For more information contact Megan at the Douglas County PUD.

Manson 3-on-3 basketball tourney

Registration is open for the Manson Apple Blossom second annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament which will be held all day May 11.

Boys' and girls' divisions range from third to eighth grade and there is an open division for adults.

The tournament will begin after the annual Manson Apple Blossom Day parade in downtown Manson.

Registration forms are available at the Manson Parks Office or online, at www.mansonparks.com. For more information, call the Parks Office 687-9635.

Non profit practices seminar

The Nonprofit Practices Institute will host its Fifth Annual Summit in Chelan, May 13. The day-long conference is aimed at providing resources and education for nonprofit leaders.

Topics at this year's summit include: employment and nonprofit law; planning for sustainability; endowments; performance measurement; storytelling; streamlining through the cloud; inspired leadership; trusts and charitable giving; and marketing.

The summit runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is $15 and includes lunch. Online registration required at www.cfncw.org.

Earn diploma, GED
