A cautionary tale about covering something wrong with something good

Posted
Even when a man commits a crime, then does something good, in the eyes of the law, that person is still a criminal.

Guillermo Guzman, a Lake Roosevelt High School Spanish teacher was arrested this April for a long-time identity theft scam that enabled him to immigrate from Mexico and become a working member of society for the past several years.

Records show Guzman, who was using another man's social security number, was busted when the other man filed for social security.

Guzman has a University of Washington bachelor's and masters degree as well as a state teaching certificate.

Guzman worked in Western Washington before moving to Okanogan County in 2008. Before his employment, Guzman passed the FBI fingerprint and Washington State Patrol background check.

Guzman is on paid leave, and is facing deportation.
