Camp Fire cleanup coming

Volunteers are needed for the annual Make a Difference Day clean up for Camp Fire's Camp Zanika Lache at Lake Wenatchee, which is set from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.

Some of the clean up tasks include taking down the archery range and wall tents, cleaning the Kiwanis lodge and the kitchen, chopping firewood, gathering and burning debris, raking leaves and repairing the Kiwanis lodge roof. Bring gloves, rakes, chainsaws, loppers and anything else that might come in handy. Lunch will be provided. The clean up effort allows Camp Fire to keep registration fees down and at the same time offer camp scholarships, or camperships, to children who would not otherwise be able to afford to come and enjoy all that camp has to offer. Lodging is available for those who would like to come up and spend the night on Friday night or stay Saturday night.
