David Williams, Too High and Too Steep

Wenatchee River Institute welcomes author David Williams as he shares his latest book, Too High and Too Steep: Reshaping Seattle's Topography. Memories of Blewett Pass

The Upper Valley Museum will be presenting evening historical programs at the UVM, 347 Division Street on the third Thursday of the month. It will be at 7 p.m. with admission by donation. Four Minutes of Fame

Write On The River presents the next installment of Four Minutes of Fame on Tuesday, Aug. 25 at O'Grady's Pantry at the Sleeping Lady Resort in Leavenworth. Four Minutes of Fame is a casual evening of local writers reading original work. Readings begin at 7 p.m. There is no cost to attend. Sign up to read your poetry, essay, short fiction, journal entry, or novel excerpt, or simply come and listen. This is not a competition, just a friendly evening among local writers. LHS Class Reunions

Leavenworth High School class reunions of 1954 through 1962 or "Gathering Of Old Fogies Yearly" (GOOFY) will be held on Sept. 2, noon to 4 p.m. at Walla Walla Park, Shelter 2. Alumni are asked to bring their favorite casserole, meat dish, salad, or dessert and should bring their own beverage also. All eating utensils, coffee, and water will be furnished. Bicycle For Two Billion

Jamie Bianchini rode a tandem bicycle through 81 countries around the globe, inviting 1,000 total strangers to jump on and join the adventure. Bringing bikes, malaria medication, fresh water, and schools, he hopes to make a difference-one smile at a time. SAGE Brown Bag
