Brewster library hosts Adult Color Night on Tuesdays

You don’t have to stay inside the lines

BREWSTER – Adults harboring a desire to recapture their youth - or at least turn back the clock a few ticks for an opportunity to correct past mistakes - can sample a small piece of what that process may involve through a new program being offered by the Brewster Library.

Remember when as a youngster you would bring home and proudly hand to your mother those artistically challenged pictures you colored at school that day? The colors were seldom complementary to each other and the lines – well you just didn’t pay much attention to those.

But Mom, bless her heart, would smother you with praise for such beautiful work and immediately attached the prize to the refrigerator door. That, by the way, is why so many refrigerators later had to be referred to professional counseling.

Well, good news!

The Brewster library introduced Adult Color Night at 5:30 p.m. last Tuesday, April 9, and will host it at 5:30 p.m. on successive Tuesdays dependent upon public interest and participation. Just as the name implies, adults get another chance to color and with a variety of instruments and to get it right this time.

Now, the bad news.

The pictures, as a library source disclosed, are a little more “difficult” than those you might have encountered as a kid.

But, more good news!

You don’t have to stay inside the lines!

When announcing Adult Color Night at the regular monthly meeting of the Brewster Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, April 3, Brewster librarian Rebekah Zion assured one intimidated inquirer that no points will be deducted for failing to stay inside the lines.
