EAST WENATCHEE - Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E Skagen, Molly Simpson and Aaron J. Viebrock executed the following actions during the August 13, 2018 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:

 

Awarded Software Analyst Susan Martin with her twenty-year service award. Commissioner Skagen thanked Susan on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for her years of dedicated service. Susan thanked the Commission and recapped the various software products she has implemented at the District.  She said "I enjoy working in the Information Systems department. You get to work with people from all over the District."

 

Awarded Administrative Assistant – Relicensing Mary Mayo with her 25 year service award. Commissioner Skagen thanked Mary on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for her years of dedicated service. Mary thanked the Commission and talked about the different positions she has held over the years.  She said "I love our department. They are great people to work with."

 

Approved a call for bids under bid document 18-30-D, supply and deliver seven 15kV, 600 AMP Padmount Switchgear. (18-132)

 

Authorized award of contract 18-04-W, replace the hydraulic shear at the Wells Hydroelectric Project to Fahey Machinery Company, the lowest responsive bidder. (18-133)

 

Amended resolution 18-130 to correct the bid opening date to August 24, 2018. (18-134)

 

Approved agreement with City of Bridgeport increasing contribution for the expansion of Conklin Landing RV Park. Due to increasing construction costs and grant funds obtained for the project, the City has agreed to increase their contribution by $50,000 for a total of $275,000. (18-135)

 

Authorized amendment No. 1 to professional service agreement with Quality Training Systems to include an additional module. This will increase the contract $11,204 for a total agreement not-to-exceed cost of $99,686. (18-136)

 

Approved amendment No. 1 to professional service agreement with Columbia Research to continue hazing birds at the Wells Hatchery and tailrace until December 31, 2018. (18-137)

 

Authorized amendment No. 1 to professional service agreement with the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. Necessary to add genetic assignment tasks to the Monitoring and Evaluation contract. This will increase the contract $11,449 for a total agreement not-to-exceed cost of $1,069,200. (18-138)

 

Authorized a renewable energy certificate purchase and sale agreement with ACT Commodities, Inc. Under this arrangement ACT Commodities has the right to claim and report non-power attributes associated with the District's share of Rocky Reach generation occurring during calendar year 2017. (18-139)

 

Established compensation for the position of General Manager effective August 16, 2018. (18-140)

 

Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 4,409 end users.

 

The Commission met on  August 27, 2018 at the District's Bridgeport office.
