You might think this large turbine prop is just a non-working tourist attraction sitting in the middle of the parking lot at Wells Dam. But once a year, on April Fool’s Day only, dam personnel flip the switch and turn on the giant spinning blades to blow any residual snow from the surrounding park facilities. The event is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-view basis. And don’t forget, it only happens once a year, on APRIL FOOL’S DAY.
