BREWSTER

Swimming pool open

The City of Brewster Swimming is open. Come and have some fun until Aug. 28, when the pool closes for summer. For information, times, etc., Please call the pool at 689-6689 or Brewster City Hall at 689-3464.

Farmers Market

Bridgeport/Brewster Farmers Market are now open on Fridays. Bridgeport hours are 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Firemans Park. Tom Dundas is the contact person, 686-8111. Brewster hours are 2-5 p.m. at the Grange Hall. Contact Marge Hagy 689-2748 for info. Fresh produce is now available at both Brewster and Bridgeport locations. Crafting vendors are also welcome.

Friday Night Pinochle

Join them starting at 6 p.m., at the Senior Center (you need not be a member) and have lots of fun. The group would love to have more players. Win $2 for High, and $1 for low, door prize, and pinochle. On Aug. 16, Jim Baum won High, and Traveler. Jeannie Johnson won Low, and Jo Davis took home the door prize. Join the for lots of fun. New faces and new friends always welcome.

Golf tourney and silent auction

Lake Wood Golf Course Improvement Tournament and Silent Auction will be Saturday, Aug. 24, with tee off at 9 a.m. Two man best ball, $100/team, lunch included.

Community meeting

An important Town meeting about the Bridgeport Fire Department will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Bridgeport Elementary School Cafeteria, starting at 7 p.m.

Lake Chelan Hydro Fest

WENATCHEE

Open Auditions for Holiday Spice 2013

Open auditions for Holiday Spice will be held Thursday, August 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee. Holiday Spice is a community based holiday variety show benefitting the Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee. The show is Thursday, November 21 at 7 p.m. Performers must be available for rehearsals Monday, November 18 through Wednesday, November 20. Additional rehearsals will be scheduled at mutually convenient times during October and November. To audition, prepare a holiday number - it may be singing, dancing, or other performance art. Support group

The new NCW Lyme Support Group meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 6:30 p.m. at 208 North Chelan Avenue in Wenatchee. They focus on providing information and resources to anyone whose life has been disrupted by Lyme disease as well as interested providers of care. Lyme is the most frequently occurring vector-borne infectious disease in the US and can cause arthritis, mental illness, and neurologic problems.
