Bears bounce easy win off visiting Liberty Bell

Posted

BREWSTER – While the Lady Bears suffered their first league loss this season to Liberty Bell in the Central Washington 2B last Friday, Jan. 18, the Brewster boys had no such problem as they cruised to a 64-20 home win over the struggling Mountain Lions.

The Bears led from the opening tip-off and held Liberty Bell to single-digit scoring through all four quarters while Brewster hit in double figures in all but the final quarter.

The Mountain Lions got off many good shot attempts but could not connect on a large majority of their shots and the Bears quickly converted defensive rebounds to scores on the opposite end of the court.

Corey Jarrell had the hot hand for Brewster with 18 points while just about every other player on the 12-man roster scored in single figures.

Starting with a 15-point lead in the first quarter the Bears continually built on that advantage, adding another 20 in the second quarter and 15 in the third.

The win leaves the Bears at 11-1 on top of the CW2B while Liberty Bell is seventh at 2-9.

The Bears host Soap Lake at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, and travel to Lake Roosevelt on Tuesday, Jan. 29.
