Bears XC team advances to State championships in Pasco

MOSES LAKE – The Brewster varsity cross country team punched its ticket to the state XC championships with a fourth-place finish in Regional competition at the District 5/6 B state qualifier in Moses Lake last Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Finishing from eighth to 64th place in the field of 84 runners, the Bears scored 110 team points to place fourth behind first-place Manson (74), second-place Tonasket (81), and third-place Liberty Bell (90).

The remaining 12 teams in the competition included:

The overall winner in the 5,000-meter race was Jacoby Weiber of Tri-Cities Prep in a time of 16:44.60

The Bears will compete at State on the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.
