Billygoats, Nannies occupy middle ranks of CW1B

PATEROS – In their first game of the new year following wins over Liberty Bell and Bridgeport at the North Central Washington tournament at Entiat, the Billygoats varsity basketball team dropped a 57-42 loss to the host Tigers on Jan. 3.

With two wins and two losses, the Billygoats are ranked third in the Central Washington 1B league behind 3-0 Riverside Christian, and 2-1 Entiat.

Pateros was scheduled to host non-league Soap Lake on Tuesday, Jan. 8, a team that handed them a narrow 71-70 loss when they last met on Dec. 6. The Billygoats will host 0-3 league rival Wilson Creek on Thursday, Jan. 10, and travel to Cascade Christian Academy on Monday, Jan. 14.

The Nannies are looking for their first win of the year after losing to Entiat, 51-37 on Jan. 3. The 2-2 Nannies are tied with Wilson Creek for fourth place in the CW1B, behind 3-0 Moses Lake Christian, 3-1 Riverside Christian, and 2-1 Entiat. Pateros will host Wilson Creek at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, to determine which team advances up the CW1B ladder.
