Billygoats split road games with Cle Elem win, RC loss

PATEROS – The Billygoats varsity basketball team split its last two road games between a win at Cle Elem, 56-52, last Thursday, Dec. 20, and an earlier 51-43 loss at Riverside Christian on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

“It was a close game the whole way and we were able to hit some free throws to seal the win,” said coach Marcus Stennes. “(Ethan) Freels led us in scoring and Ethan Wall lead us rebounding and protecting the hoop.”

Freels canned 19 points and Wall had 12 to go with his 13 rebounds and 8 blocked shots.

Loss at RC
“(We) lost our first league game at Riverside Christian,” said Stennes of the Dec. 20 road game. “We struggled shooting the ball going 4-26 from three. Our lack or rebounding gave them 24 offensive boards/second chances which was the difference maker.”

Freels led scoring with 12 points, Wall added 10, and Aiden Hall, 9.

Pateros plays Bridgeport at the North Central Washington Tournament at Entiat on Dec. 27, and Liberty Bell on Dec. 28
