Brewster extends soccer win streak to 3-0

Posted

BREWSTER – The game was all but over in the first half of play as the Brewster Bears varsity soccer team preserved its unbeaten win streak at 3-0 with a 9-3 victory over visiting Tonasket last Thursday, March 30.
The Bears were up, 7-2, at the half and never let the Tigers back into the game through the second period.
The win leaves Brewster on top of the North Central Washington 2B League at 3-0, two games ahead of Liberty Bell, Manson and Bridgeport, all at 1-1.
Against a tougher non-league 1A Cascade, the Bears suffered a 4-1 loss at Leavenworth on Saturday, April 1. In earlier games against non-league Caribou Trail League schools the Bears handed 4-0 defeats to both Okanogan and Cashmere.
The Bears were scheduled to host another 1A club, Chelan, on Tuesday, April 4, and will entertain Liberty Bell at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11.
With a deep bench of two dozen players and many of them seniors and juniors, coach Jenner Sanon can substitute generously to keep his opponents running.
