BREWSTER – Coming off a third place at State last year, the Brewster High School varsity girls’ soccer team has its work cut out for it as the girls begin the march for what they hope is an even better finish this year.

The Lady Bears lost to St. Georges in the state quarterfinals but rallied to defeat Adna for third place.
Brewster lost five senior All-League players to graduation last June, including Central Washington 2B Player of the Year Marlisa Garcia at the midfielder position. Gone are First Team players Rosa Tinoco and Yalina Vargas, and

Second Team picks Yvette Sanchez and Rosa Velasco. Claire Burgett and Naydelin Arevalo were also lost to graduation.

Returning All-League players include senior defender Beatriz Martinez, senior midfielder Alondra Torres, and senior goalkeeper Kim Nila.

Brewster will host Lake Roosevelt at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, and Chelan in a non-league match at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.
