Brewster girls ride win stream into Christmas break

BREWSTER – Taking a page from last year, the Brewster girls varsity basketball team is riding a six-game win streak going into the Christmas break with wins over the Lady Trojans at Manson, 60-26, and Soap Lake at home, 57-10.
The Lady Bears led Manson from the opening basket to a near-20-point halftime lead and used tough defense to hold down the Lady Trojans’ second half scoring to just 13 points through the final two quarters.
Maret Miller was the game-high scorer with 23 points.
Soap Lake barely broke double digits in the 57-10 loss at Brewster, Dec. 12. A five-point third quarter equaled the Eagles’ scoring in the other three as the Lady Bears cruised to 11, 17, 20, and 9 points in their four quarters of play. Marlisa Garcia led all scorers with 14 points
The girls have the holiday off and will return to play at Tonasket on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018.
