RICHLAND – The Brewster Bears are one of three Central Washington 2B league teams to advance to the semifinal round of District 5/6 play following wins at Hanford High School last Saturday, Feb. 9.

The Bears defeated Columbia (Burbank) 67-40 in the District quarterfinals after the Coyotes narrowly eliminated Bridgeport, 55-54, in first-round loser-out play on Friday, Feb. 8. Columbia entered District competition as the No. 3 team from the Eastern Washington Athletic

The CW2B co-champion Oroville Hornets beat Manson, 52-43, as the third team to enter the semis against Lake Roosevelt.

All three CW2B teams won spots in Regional competition with their wins last Saturday.

Tri-Cities fell to Lake Roosevelt by a point, 57-56, and dropped into the consolation round against Manson while the Raiders advanced to the semis to face Oroville next Friday.

The undefeated and two-time state champion Kittitas Coyotes remain the team to beat even though weather postponed their Saturday game against White Swan.
