BRIDGEPORT – The Liberty Bell varsity girls’ basketball team that handed Brewster’s Lady Bears their first league loss of the season last week lost none of its touch when the Lady Mountain Lions invaded Bridgeport’s gym last Friday, Jan. 25. Liberty Bell took home a 62-19 win over the Fillies in a game they led from start to finish.

The loss leaves the Nannies tied with Tonasket for fifth place in the Central Washington 2B league with a 5-9 record, behind Brewster 12-1, LBHS 11-2, Lake Roosevelt 10-3, and Waterville-Mansfield 10-3.

During a special halftime performance, a group of young girls from pre-K through eighth grade demonstrated some of the moves they learned at a three-day Cheer Camp that concluded with the varsity halftime show.

The Nannies were scheduled to host 4-9 Soap Lake on Tuesday, Jan. 29, and face the Lake Roosevelt High School Lady Raiders on Friday, Feb. 1. Bridgeport will host Oroville in its last game of the regular season at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5.
