RICHLAND – The scheduled quarterfinal District 5/6 playoff game between the Central Washington 2B league champion Brewster Lady Bears and Mabton was postponed last Saturday, Feb. 9, when weather conditions prevented Mabton from making the trip to Hanford High School. At this writing it remains to be determined whether Mabton will forfeit or play Brewster at a different venue before next Friday’s semifinal games begin at Chelan.

Mabton was scheduled to travel to play at Brewster last Tuesday, Feb. 12, but weather once again forced the visitors to cancel that trip.

The CW2B No. 2 Liberty Bell girls defeated DeSales, the No. 3 team from the Eastern Washington Athletic Conference, 46-44 to advance to the semifinals and win a spot in Regional competition.

The Lady Raiders, No. 3 in the CW2B, beat Columbia (Burbank), 46-43, and scheduled to meet the winner of Brewster-Mabton.

In loser-out play last Friday, Feb. 8, No. 4 Waterville-Mansfield lost to EWAC No. 1 Tri-Cities Prep, 63-34, ending the Lady Shockers’ District hopes.

The semifinal round of District 5/6 competition will begin on Friday, Feb. 15, at Chelan High School with game times to be determined later in the week.
