Leaner Bears varsity soccer team will defend CW2B league title

BREWSTER – Coming off a Central Washington 2B league championship and third-place finish in District 5/6 last year, the Brewster High School varsity boys’ soccer team is leaner after losing a dozen seniors to graduation last June.
Despite the loss of a leadership core of the team, the Bears have three returning All-League First Team players including Most Valuable Player Felix Nava. Joining Nava are First-Team players Rodrigo Gomez and Ricardo Gallaga.
The Bears won 18 straight games last season the Bears fell to Connell in the first round of loser-out state playoffs.
The Bears started practice on Feb. 26 and were scheduled to host 1A Chelan of the Caribou Trail League in a non-league game on Tuesday, March 13.
Brewster will travel to Cashmere on Thursday, March 15, followed by Okanogan on Saturday, March 17. The Bears home opener will be against Manson at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22.
The Bears’ head coach is Jenner Sanon and assistant is Felipe Torres.
