Mustangs drop doubleheaders to Manson, Tonasket

Posted

BRIDGEPORT – The Mustangs varsity baseball team could not find the key to unlock a win in either game of a doubleheader against the visiting Manson Trojans last Thursday, April 27. In fact, the hapless Mustangs could not even wring a single run out of either game and fell to Manson, 25-0 in both games.
The Trojans, on the other hand, struck early, getting three runs in the first inning of game one and scoring in each inning thereafter.
The Mustangs are currently 2-13 in North Central Washington 2B League play with wins over Lake Roosevelt early in the season. Bridgeport sits at eighth in the NCW2B, two games behind Waterville-Mansfield and one ahead of Oroville.
Bridgeport scored three runs in a doubleheader loss to Tonasket on Saturday, April 29. The Tigers took the first game of that series, 18-2, and the second game, 18-1.
The Mustangs were scheduled to host the Hornets in their final home game of the season on Tuesday, May 2. Bridgeport narrowly lost to Oroville, 11-7 in their last meeting on April 25.
