Posted

BRIDGEPORT – The Mustangs’ varsity soccer team remain in a three-way for second place in the North Central Washington 2B League following a 5-2 loss to visiting Manson last Thursday, March 30.
Manson jumped out to an early lead on a hat-trick from senior Trojan Jose Juarez in the first 35 minutes of play.
Bridgeport got some good shots on goal but could never get back into the game despite an impressive 35-yard volley from Osvaldo Orozco that gave the Mustangs their final goal.
The win puts Manson even with the Mustangs and Liberty Bell at 1-1 in league play with 3-0 Brewster at the top and Oroville and Tonasket trailing at 1-2 and 0-2 respectively.
Bridgeport came close against Okanogan on Saturday, April 1, with a 4-3 loss to the 1A Bulldogs.
The Mustangs will travel to Oroville on Tuesday, April 11, for a league match against the Hornets.
