Mustangs stampede Oroville, 11-0 on Senior Night

BRIDGEPORT – The Mustangs varsity boys’ soccer team almost wore out the net on the goal defended by the visiting Oroville Hornets on Senior Night last Thursday, April 25.

Bridgeport scored four unanswered goals in the first half and added seven more in the second.

According to a report from Team spokesman Chris Gonzalez the scoring began when Diego Martinez scored with an assist from Christian Aguilar, Ramiro Espino scored with an assist from Alex Zarate, Rafael Martinez scored a goal, and Paul Torres scored with an assist from Jesus Valdovinos. In the second half Alexis Valdovinos scored a goal with an assist by Jesus Valdovinos, Osvaldo Orozco scored a goal, Alexis Valdovinos scored a goal, Christian Aguilar scored a goal with an assist from Jesus Valdovinos, Yair Diaz scored a goal with an assist by Jesus Valdovinos, Yair Diaz scored a goal, and the final goal was from Julio Sanchez with an assist by Tony Ruiz.

The Mustangs honored 16 seniors for their hard work and dedication to the team.

The Mustangs pushed their Central Washington 2B league-leading record to 8-1, three games ahead of second-place Brewster. Bridgeport hosts Omak at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, for its final non-league match of the year, and travels to Brewster on Tuesday, April 30 for the final regular season game.
