PATEROS – The Nannies varsity softball team increased in Central Washington 2B league record to four wins against two losses with a doubleheader victory over visiting Oroville last Saturday, April 1, but it wasn’t easy.
The hard-hitting Hornets stayed within striking distance through both games, dropping the first 14-11, and the second by only a run, 14-13.
Pateros coach John Slater’s starting lineup included pitcher Aubrey Miller, catcher Anna Schluneger, first base Taylor Harrild, second base Ashlyn Gonzalez, third base Aubrey Baird, shortstop Jahaira Hernandez, and outfielders Samantha White, Kiera Austin and Alondra Hernandez.
The Nannies’ only league losses have come at the bats of Liberty Bell in a March 25 doubleheader.
Following an off week, Pateros will play at lake Roosevelt, Tuesday, April 11, and host Bridgeport in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 14.
The Nannies are currently in fourth place in the NCW2B, behind 4-0 Liberty Bell and ahead of the 2-6 Hornets.
