Pateros Homecoming festivities soothe Odessa-Harrington loss

Posted

PATEROS – A week of Homecoming activities culminating with the coronation of this year’s king and queen during football halftime provided some balm to soothe the bruises from an 80-6 loss to Odessa-Harrington last Friday, Sept. 21.

The Billygoats’ varsity football team saw its two-game winning streak built upon Curlew and Yakama Tribal come to an end as the O-H Tigers took control of the game from the opening seconds and never looked back. O-H scored in the first 15 seconds of play, added another TD less than two minutes in and held a 46-0 lead at halftime.

Junior wide receiver Kobe Thrixton made it into the Tigers’ end zone in the third quarter for the Billygoats’ only TD of the game. Senior quarterback Jeremy Piechalski completed 9 of 25 passes for 52 yards.

The Homecoming theme this year was “We Got Game” and came with five dress-up days including:
Monday: Candy Land, Sweet Dreams-Pajama Days

Tuesday: Scrabble-Dress as anything that begins as the same letter as your first name.

Wednesday: Cranium-Nerd Day

Thursday: Guess Who?-Masquerade Day

Friday: Battle Ship-9th/10th wear Gold, 11th/12th wear Purple

Other Homecoming activities included Blind Musical Chairs, Hidden Spirit Stix, Lip Sync, Obstacle Course, Tug-of-War and Pep Assembly, the latter held before Friday’s game
