Pateros teams head to District following

Pateros – The Billygoats and Nannies varsity basketball teams headed to Central Washington 1B District competition at Ephrata on Wednesday, Feb. 13, after ending their regular season with wins over Wilson Creek and Entiat.

The Billygoats defeated Wilson Creek on the road, 73-40, on Tuesday, Feb. 5, to finish third in the CW1B with a 6-4 record, behind first-place Riverside Christian, 9-1, and Moses Lake Christian, 8-2.

“We were able to rebound the ball well and push in transition,” said head coach Marcus Stennes of the win over the Devils.

Ethan Freels and Aiden Hall led Pateros with 11 and 19 points respectively.

Pateros was scheduled to face Moses Lake Christian, Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Ephrata High School in a loser-out first-round game.

Entiat was scheduled to meet Riverside Christian in the other lower-out contest. The winners will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, to determine the District champion.

Nannies lose-win
The Nannies lost a close three-point decision, 45-42 to Wilson Creek on the Lady Devils’ home court. Pateros made up for the loss with a 66-26 win over Easton in their final regular season game at home last Thursday, Feb. 7.

The Nannies, third in the CW1B with an 8-4 record were scheduled to face second-place Riverside Christian last Wednesday at Ephrata while No. 1 Entiat met fourth-place Moses Lake Christian. The winners face off at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 for the District title.
