Undefeated Brewster blanks Mustangs, 7-0, on home pitch

arsity soccer team remains at the top of the Central Washington 2B league soccer standings following a 7-0 over the Mustangs at Bridgeport last Thursday, April 12.
Despite several good attempts at the Bears’ goal, the shots on the opposite end of the field hit home with more effect during a game that saw plenty of give-and-take physical contact during two halves of play.
The Bears were up 4-0 early in the second half and added three more goals, one off a penalty kick by last year’s Central Washington 2B league Most Valuable Player, Felix Nava. Nava also scored the final goal of the game.
Following the shutout at Brewster the Mustangs took revenge on Omak, 5-2, last Saturday, April 14.
“Bridgeport's Ozzy Orozco scored first with an assist from Christian Aguilar,” said coach Gabe Gonzalez
Keven Cervantes followed up that score with a goal off an assist from Orozco.
The Mustangs’ Christian Aguilar scored the third goal of the first half, Gonzalez said.
During the second half, Alexis Valdovinos scored with an assist from Orozco and Carlos Ruiz scored off an assist from Leonardo Sanchez.
Omak scored two goals during the second half. 
Bridgeport goalie Edgar Meza had 4 saves.
“Our defense played a strong game and our midfield did a good job keeping possession of the ball and staying in control of the game,” Gonzalez said.
The Mustangs were scheduled to meet Liberty Bell on the road on Tuesday, April 17, followed by a game at Tonasket on Thursday, April 19. Bridgeport will host Manson at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21.
Brewster was scheduled to face the Trojans at Manson on Tuesday, April 17, and will host Oroville at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, followed by Cashmere at 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.
