CCT release first salmon above Chief Joseph Dam

NESPELEM – The Colville Confederated Tribes (CCT) in conjunction with Colville Tribes Fish and Wildlife will release the first chinook salmon in Rufus Woods Lake upstream of Chief Joseph Dam since the structure was completed in 1955.
The release, open to the public, will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, August 9, at the new RV park at Rufus Woods about five miles below Nespelem.

Spectators are advised to bring lawn chairs. A continental breakfast will follow the release ceremony.
