BREWSTER – National Night Out 2018 was another community hit on Tuesday, August 7, as the Brewster Police Department came together with other city, county, and state agencies and city residents at the Brewster Boys and Girls Club.
Brewster Police Chief Nattalie Cariker brought the annual observance to the BBGC for the third consecutive year in an effort to strengthen participation and communication with all aspects of the community and its residents.
Along with the food, games, and fun there were car seat safety checks, a bike rodeo, and bike raffle.
More than a dozen organizations pitched in to make the night a success, including the Brewster Chamber of Commerce, Washington State Patrol, Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office and Dispatch, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Douglas Okanogan County Fire District 15 EMS, Brewster Fire Department, Three Rivers Hospital, Okanogan Behavioral HealthCare, Family Health Center, Okanogan County Emergency Management, Brewster Public Works, and more.
Brewster City Council member Avis Erickson presented a Buddy Bench to Brewster Elementary School for placement on its playground. Erickson raised the funds to purchase the bench from individual $10 donations from community supporters.
