BREWSTER –The award-winning Gamble Sands Golf and Inn held a special Open House Saturday, March 11, to introduce the site’s many amenities to members of the local business community and promote the resort’s meeting and retreat attractions.
Gamble Sands General Manager, David Christenson, and Sales and Marketing Director, Corina Gebbers collaborated on the event to remind business clientele and the public that dining and lodging is available year-round at Gamble Sands and a great spot for that next meeting or retreat.
The meeting room is ideal for about 20 people,” said Gebbers. “There is a $50 fee for its use and that is waived with a $200 food and beverage charge.”
The 20 guests who took advantage of the promotional Open House were treated to a tour of the Inn and lodging facilities, a social hour and dinner.
The resort, situated on Gebbers family property on the south end of the Colville Reservation, is easily accessible via a four-mile paved road that intersects State Route 17 near its junction with U.S. 97.
Lodging facilities include 24 double queen rooms, 10 with kings and three suites. The Inn is taking reservations now and a popular option is the Stay and Play Package for those who like to combine business with pleasure.
Packages for hunters, fishermen, skiers, and other outdoor enthusiasts are also an option.
Gebbers said snow is melting fast on the course and a target opening date is set for April 8.
The Sands course was designed by David McLay Kidd, whose other projects included Bandon Dunes at Lake Bandon on southern Oregon’s Pacific Coast
“My task was to create the first genuine Scottish-style links course in America,” Kidd said of inspiration behind the The Sands.
The Sands was among Golf Digest’s Best New Courses when the site debuted in 2014.
The course is taking reservations now and groups of 12 or more on the course receive the tournament discount, Gebbers said.
