Posted

BREWSTER – An extensive display of historical southern Okanogan County pioneer and homestead stories and photos will be available for public viewing at the 2018 Pie Social Exhibition at Brewster High School’s small gym, Friday and Saturday, June 8-9.
Ralph Fries, 1955 Brewster High School graduate and 2017 inductee into the school’s Wall of Fame, has compiled the material covering the years 1886 to 1970 and will bring additional stories he has recently researched.
“I have all the stories completed that I had on display for the 2014 Pie Social at the Fries homestead prior to the disastrous Carlton Complex Fire of July 18, 2014,” Fries wrote in a media release. “I have researched this past year additional pioneer stories that also will be on display for the first time.
Fries, grandson of Ulrick Fries, author of the book “From Copenhagen to Okanogan,” has also compiled stories totaling 218 pages of material on 14 south county pioneer women.
