Senior Center adopts new Thrift Store hours

Posted

BREWSTER – The Brewster-Pateros-Bridgeport Senior Center has adopted new hours for its Thrift Store, said president Kathy Lowry.
The new hours will be from 8 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
“We will try and see how it works to open the store every other Saturday beginning May 1 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.,” Lowry said.
Donations will be accepted during store hours at the back door or “just knock or come on in,” said Lowry. “We take just about everything except children's clothing.”
Lowry said the Center will also take “small pieces of furniture and sometimes larger items if we have a space to display them.”
“Unfortunately, we will not be putting on the Mother's Day Tea this year,” said Lowry. “I did not get enough volunteers to help us, so, maybe next year.”
S.A.I.L (Stay Active and Independent for Life) exercise classes are still going strong, Lowry said.
“We have eight to 12 people attending on Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.,” said Lowry. “It is a basic balance and core strength set of exercises.”
