Sunday fundraiser supports Corona cause

Posted

BREWSTER – Venders, shoppers and supporters stopped by the commons at Brewster High School last Sunday, Jan. 28, to participate in a fundraiser for a young Brewster boy who is battling bone cancer.
While 10-year Yahir Corona, son of Erika and Orlando Corona undergoes treatment at Children’s Hospital in Seattle, family friend Jamie Descoteaux, a nurse practitioner at Bridgeport Family Health Center organized the four-hour Sunday event at Bridgeport High School to help raise funds to defray family expenses.
“Yahir’s mom is my translator at family Health Center,” said Descoteaux (pronounced Dakota). Along with an assortment of LuLaRoe clothing, other vendors included Sean and Mistie Madsen, owners of M&S Custom Vinyl from East Wenatchee who displayed T-shirts decorated with a “FIGHT” logo designed especially for Corona’s funding campaign.
Descoteaux has also created an account under the name Hope for Yahir at Wells Fargo Bank.
