Donald ‘Don’ G. Saint

December 16, 1942 - June 25, 2018

Donald G. Saint, age 75 passed away at Spokane Hospice House as a result from complications caused by a brain tumor on June 25, 2018. He was born in Wenatchee, WA on December 16, 1942 to John H. and Lois M. Saint.

He was born the third child of four and was raised in Brewster, WA, he was proud member of the Boy Scouts of America and attended the National Jamboree in Washington D.C. in 1957.  He enjoyed playing football as a Brewster Bear and graduated high school in 1962.

He joined the Air Force in November, that same year and served 4 years. He ended his career as a civilian air traffic controller in Vang Tau, Republic of Vietnam. After his service, he then completed his electrician’s apprenticeship and joined the IBEW 497 and worked on numerous dams on the Columbia River and many other jobs around the state.  He also enjoyed working for the Department of Transportation as a snow plow operator.

He was married for fifteen years to Madelyn Park and had three children and then married Sonya Pritchard. They were married for the next thirty-one years and he gained three bonus children.

He had many interests such as fishing, hunting, snowmobiling & camping. In his CB days, his friends knew him as "Sparky". He was a dedicated Seahawk fan, thoroughly enjoyed Disneyland, his Mickey Mouse collection and favorite dog, Sammy.

He was a working man that could fix anything. He loved Fords, Honky Tonk music (especially Willie Nelson) and every movie "The Duke" ever made. His most recent passion included heading for the hills with his brother Phil & friends to find  the big nugget!  He was a member of WPMA, North Central Washington Prospectors as well as the American Legion Post 97.

He loved his close friends, he called family, Lew and Eunice Gipe and all the additional friends he made  finding his way to heaven, taking one day at a time.

His family would like to thank his caring & heroic neighbors, Jose and Marissa Sanchez & family for aiding him, thus allowing us to have extra time with him before his passing.

Don is survived by his children Nannette (Jerry), Donnie (Michele), Darrell (Liana), Lainie, Tami (Cam), Mark (Laurel) Darla (Brian).  Brother Phil (Linda). 

Grandchildren Dane, Ashley, Marie, Bailee, Sam (Hilary), Brandon (Brandi), Kyle (Crystal), Jordon (Antonio), Nick and Taylor (Bryan). He leaves behind, many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Sonya,  brother Mike, sister Marie “Bobbie”, nephew Mikey and granddaughter Holly.

Join us to celebrate his life on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Community Log Church in Brewster, WA (209 S. 4th St.) followed by a gathering at the American Legion Post 97, Brewster (in his honor to enjoy his favorite  Mariner hot dogs and a strawberry milkshake).
