James Michael Lovaas

James Michael Lovaas, born February 14, 1945, in California, passed away at home on May 1, 2017.

Jim grew up in Pateros, Wash., where he attended Pateros High School graduating in 1963. After high school, he joined the National Guard and served for six years. Upon his return, Jim worked for Northwest Wholesale, in Brewster, as a truck driver and warehouseman for several years.  He later found his passion in the construction industry, and was proud to have worked on the Chief Joseph Dam project. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Bridgeport, and the American Legion Post 0097 in Brewster. 

In retirement, Jim enjoyed playing pool and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, He was a true collector of memorabilia and antiques, but mostly he collected friends wherever he went.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Evelyn Lovaas. He is survived by his sister, Jeanette Greedy-Clements, his sons, James Michael Lovaas, Jr. and Terry Tisdale Lovaas, and daughter, Tasha Tisdale.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 13, at Pateros Cemetery. A reception and luncheon will follow at the American Legion, in Brewster, Wash.
