Lynda Marie Williams passed away at her home on May 21, 2019 after a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. She was born in Omak, Wash. on August 19, 1947 to Bob and Bette Williams of Pateros. She grew up in the Methow Valley and graduated as a 12-year senior from Pateros High School in 1965.
While in school she met her husband to be, Randy Williams. They were married for 53 years. After high school she attended Business school in Seattle and graduated in 1967. Lynda worked in the apple industry as an administrative and payroll specialist, retiring from Chelan Fruit in December of 2017. In addition to her profession, her and Randy farmed their own orchards for more than 40 years. She was a lifelong, avid reader, loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grand child and hosting family game nights. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and camping at Foggy Dew campground. As a child growing up in the lower Methow valley, she spent her summers enjoying the river with her sisters and her friends. She also enjoyed athletics; playing softball, tennis and basketball and was active in several clubs in school.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Holly Williams, and a great nephew, Gage Shimmel.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Williams of Brewster, son Mark Williams of East Wenatchee and daughter Melissa Medina of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Danielle Medina, Alex Solorzano (Alexa Burch), Hunter Williams, Deyd Williams and one great-grand daughter Elora Solorzano. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Bobbie, Carol, Theda, Rob and Tim and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved her family very much and will be missed tremendously by all.
A celebration of life will be held at Barnes Funeral Home in Brewster, Wash. on Saturday, June 1, at 10:00 a.m. Refreshments will be provided, and all are welcome. If you would like to share a story, thought or memory at the celebration, it would be appreciated.
