BBGC event is a hit

BREWSTER – If there was anything missing from last Saturday’s Cops & Kids, Christmas Shop and Winter Carnival at the Brewster Boys and Girls Club, the youngsters apparently didn’t notice.

The three-hour extravaganza opened its doors at 10 a.m. for youngsters and adults alike to meet Santa Claus, shop for gifts from the $1 Kids’ and Adults’ Shops, create at the craft tables, participate in a variety of games, enjoy refreshments, meet local and state law enforcement officers, and have an all-around good time.

Christmas Shop spokeswoman Avis Erickson said the proceeds from this year’s gift shops will be reinvested toward next season’s event with the goal of having an even larger selection of $1 presents for shoppers.

The festivities included a kids’ Snow Safety Poster with the best ideas and designs winning new sleds provided by the Brewster Marketplace Pharmacy and Hardware.
