Senior Center puts out the call for 2019 officers

BREWSTER – The Pateros-Brewster-Bridgeport Senior Center will form an Election Committee when it holds it general meeting this month. According to member Kathy Lowry, the 2019 officers will need to be nominated in time for the election meeting in December, but as of this writing nobody has stepped forward to either be on the committee or run for office, so the call is going out to any and all interested parties.

Several helpful donations have come the Center’s way, thanks to some canvassing efforts by Sue Burgess.

“Blue Water Sanitation has out-done itself and donated $400,” said Lowry. “(It) would be nice if someone would match that and have that continue down the line.”

The winners of the annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest included first place to Mary Johnson, second place to Lowry, and third place to Paula Peckham.
Brewster librarian Rebecca Zion has volunteered to stop by the Center after lunch every fourth Thursday of the month to read to the Seniors while they wait for the bus. The public is welcome to drop in for a listen.

The Rummage Room hours have been changed slightly to 8 a.m. through 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
