The first annual Tacoctoberfest, sponsored by the folks at Thomason Law and Justice, left no gravestone unturned as creatively attired contestants competed for the top prize of $1,000 for the best costume.

That prize went to Jackie Shaw of Brewster whose Zombie Bride creation stole the hearts of every prospective groom on the panel of judges.

Organizers adjusted the events as the turnout and participation required at the waterfront gala.

Alex Thomason and his crew pulled out all the stops to make the day a memorable one for all comers. Tacoctoberfest helped continue the city’s active event calendar now that the Pateros Chamber of Commerce has suspended its activities for the time being.

If crowd appreciation in any indicator, Tacoctoberfest will be paying a return visit around this time next year.
