Douglas County Public Utility District honors Scott Jonas

EAST WENATCHEE - Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E Skagen, Molly Simpson and Aaron J. Viebrock executed the following actions during the July 10, 2017 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

• Awarded System Protection Engineer Scott Jonas with his twenty-year service award. Commissioner Skagen thanked Scott on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his years of service. Scott thanked the Commission and said “It’s been nice to work in a variety of facilities from hydro and transmission to distribution and substations.”

• Authorized interconnection and service agreement with Northern Fruit Company as required by the Customer Service Policies, Section 36. (17-098)

• Approved acceptance of work and final payment to Whitebird, Inc. under contract 16-14-W, construct Wells Hydroelectric Project Interpretive Center. All work has been completed and determined to meet bid specifications. (17-099)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 17-12-W, Pateros dock replacements and boat launch improvements. (17-100)

• Approved a call for bids under bid document 17-01-W, upgrade the 300T Gantry Crane at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. It is over fifty years old and the mechanical components are nearing the end of their useful life. (17-101)

• Authorized a request for qualifications 17-15-W, model testing and verification at the Wells Hydroelectric Project for NERC standards. The District is required to perform field verification model testing on various systems and equipment. (17-102)

• Approved professional service agreement with ESSA Technologies Ltd. For phase 3 of the renewal and modernization of the Fish Water Management Tool. The age and support status of the current software and hardware necessitate modernization. (17-103)

• Authorized approval of land use permit 341-02, Dawn Hassel. The permit is for continued use of Project lands previously permitted for a single use dock, lawn and landscaping. (17-104)

• Approved approval of land use permit 616-02, Mary Johnson. The permit is for continued use of Project lands previously permitted for a single use dock, pump and inlet, fence, lawn and landscaping. (17-105)

• Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 3,712 end users.

• The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. July 24, 2017 at the District’s East Wenatchee office.
