Rep. Newhouse visits Pateros

Rep. Dan Newhouse (Washington 4th Dist.) visited with the Americorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) team in Pateros on July 7. AmeriCorps is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, and NCCC teams volunteer to respond to natural disasters, improve infrastructure, conserve the environment, and redevelop urban and rural areas. The team in Pateros has been working with Okanogan Long Term Recovery for the past three years to help rebuild homes and infrastructure destroyed in the 2014 Carlton and Okanogan Complex Fires. “I was happy to learn about the great work they were doing and lend a hand,” Newhouse said.
