Seven Pateros graduates share $18K in scholarships

PATEROS – Seven graduates from the Class of 2017 shared $18,000 in scholarship awards from the Pateros Scholarship Fund (PSF), Okanogan Masonic Lodge No. 169, Herbert and Elizabeth Davis Scholarship and Wenatchee Valley College.

The PSF, created in 2013 to replace the Pateros Dollars for Scholars chapter of Scholarship America, has awarded a total of $168,450 to more than 217 Pateros graduates. It supports Pateros High School graduates in their pursuit of post-secondary education. PSF enjoys the support of dozens of individuals – many of them former graduates – memorials and businesses.

PSF is administered by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington that currently manages total assets of $43 million in more than 300 individual funds and supports charitable causes throughout Douglas, Chelan and Okanogan counties.

Pateros graduated 25 seniors in ceremonies held at Pateros High School on June 3.

Scholarship winners included:

Anna Schluneger – Pateros Scholarship Fund (PSF) $2,000; Okanogan Masonic Lodge (OML) No. 169, Herbert and Elizabeth Davis Scholarship, $2,000.

Roberta Hall – PSF, $2,000, OML, $1,000.

Isaac Wall – PSF, $2,000. OML, $1,000.

Veronica Morales – Wenatchee Valley College, $2,000.

Aubrey Miller – PSF, $2,000.

Emily Larsen – PSF, $2000.

Lauren Gelstin – PSF, $2,000.
