“Both Kittitas and Tri-Cities Prep are competitive teams with players who can dig balls and put balls away,” said coach Boesel. “It was good for us to get this experience heading into state.”

WENATCHEE – The Lady Bears varsity volleyball team demonstrated both its tenacity and teamwork by defeating two tough opponents in the Bi-District 5/6 Championships at Wenatchee High School last Thursday, Nov. 2.
In semi-final and final matches that both went to the wire, Brewster first dispatched Tri-Cities Prep in the best of five matches, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22, 24-26, 15-9 followed by Kittitas, 23-25, 25-11, 25-23, 19-25, 15-13.
“We started slow and it took a while for us to dig in and compete,” said coach Marcy Boesel. “I wouldn't say we ever got to the place where we were in sync, but we started to make plays.”
Boesel said each of her players came though at different times with something the team needed.
Brooklynne Boesel and Marta Martinez were both perfect from the service line in both matches.
Boesel hit 25 for 25 against the Jaguars and 17 for 17 against the Coyotes.
Martinez was 15 for 15 and 21 for 21.
Maret Miller hit 30 of 31 successful serves and put away 26 kills against Kittitas.
“Brooklynne's ability to terminate and pick up balls on defense was huge,” her coach said.
Boesel pulled out 31 digs against Tri-Cities and slammed 37 kills onto the Coyotes.
“Both Kittitas and Tri-Cities Prep are competitive teams with players who can dig balls and put balls away,” said coach Boesel. “It was good for us to get this experience heading into state.”

Brewster plays Raymond at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in first round of state playoffs at the SunDome in Yakima.
