Area teams compete for spots at state

BREWSTER – State advancement hopes are on the line for several teams today, including baseball, softball, soccer, and track and field.

Bears varsity baseball will be in Manson for a 4:30 p.m. game against the Trojans that will determine which team advances for a shot at a state spot.

The Lady Bears varsity softball team hosts Liberty Bell at 4:30 p.m. in another loser-out game. The winner will face the Bulldogs at Okanogan at 4:30 p.m., Friday, May 10, in the quarterfinals.

Track and field competes in the District Championships at Oroville. The top eight finishers in each event qualify for state.

Thursday, May 8

Bridgeport boys’ soccer takes on Quincy at 6 p.m., in the Wenatchee Apple Bowl to keep the Mustangs’ state hopes alive. Both winner and loser have a second game on Saturday, May 11, for a loser-out, winner-to -state outcome.
