Billygoats open season against MLCA/CC

PATEROS – The scoreboard showed two minutes, 16 seconds remaining in the first quarter when the Pateros Billygoats varsity football team posted its first touchdown of the game against visiting Curlew from the 1B Northeast District. By that time the Cougars were up 20-6 and boosted that to 26-6 in less than a half minute later.

The first quarter foreshadowed what was yet to come as the Cougars scored on just about every possession to enter the halftime locker room with a comfortable 56-6 margin. The tempo slowed in the second half ending with a 68-14 Cougar victory.

The Billygoats opened their season with a 54-20 road loss to conference rival Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian on Sept. 8.

Pateros will host conference rival Entiat at 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 22.
