Brewster EP&O levy passing in early vote counts

BREWSTER – Preliminary votes released by the Okanogan County Auditor show the Brewster School District’s four-year Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) passing by more than the 50 percent required by state law.

The initial vote tally from 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, showed voters approving the measure by 54.08 percent to 45.92 percent opposed. Of the 527 ballots counted, 285 supported the levy and 242 did not.

The second count on Friday, April 26, showed a growing margin of support for the levy. The Yes vote increased to 55.04 percent from 322 voters, while the 263 No votes accounted for 44.96 percent.
