Ervin Douglas Wolley

Ervin Douglas Wolley, 88, of Pateros passed away February 21, 2022. Born March 10, 1933 in Walker, Minnesota. He was the eldest child of Hersel and Marjorie (Graves) Wolley. At an early age the family moved to Ronan, Montana where he attended school then moved to Washington.

He married Betty Aarestad in 1951 in Grand Coulee where they had two sons.  They moved to the Brewster area shortly after the boys were born. 

    Ervin was a man of many skills. He worked construction on many of the dams including Grand Coulee and Chief Joseph, farmed, operated a steam rolled grain mill, and in the building industry. He designed and built many specialty items for warehouses when working for Brewster Heights Packing and Jack Nickell.

   He bought property south of Pateros where he developed a mobile home park and retired.  He loved to garden, feed and watch the birds and tinker around his property. Ervin’s knowledge and legacy will live on in his sons, family, and all whose lives he touched. 

He is survived by his sons Don (Patti) and Duane (Donza), brother Lamar, sister Audree,  three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents, longtime companion Mary Loucks and ex-wife Betty.

   A Memorial Service will be held at the American Legion Hall in Brewster, Washington on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 1 p.m.
