Adventures in 'Real Life' yours without cost, fear

Posted
CHELAN - As I wander through life looking for spiritual enlightenment I sometimes come across an experience worth sharing with other travellers.

Such a place is Real Life Lake Chelan church. They gather, hundreds strong, at the high school here on Sunday morning. Just show up and "relax - no matter where you are on your spiritual journey, we're glad you're here" says the brochure handed out by the friendly ushers.

I did so. A fellow named Kyle Plew, lead pastor here, gave a talk about "gracenomics" and Peter the Apostle's struggle in his relationship with Jesus.

At the end of the story Jesus was cooking fish for breakfast for three fishermen after he had arisen from the dead. Peter has been feeding the Lord's flock ever since. For those who read this wanting to try a different type of church experience, wanting a "second chance" at finding God, I say go visit Real Life.

No ceremonies, no dogma, no condemnation. Just little girls doing cartwheels in the sun on the grass after service and adults lingering about sipping coffee, chatting about ...... real life.

The Chelan High School is located at 215 West Webster Avenue and the service starts at 10 a.m.
