Soaring, a family concert to be held Feb. 22

Posted

OMAK - On Feb. 22, Okanogan County’s own live orchestra and chorus take the stage at the Omak Performing Arts Center to present a “Family” concert of music that will take you Soaring. The musical selections focus on the feeling of flying, soaring, lifting and the joy of being carried away with the beauty of music.
The Chorus is performing several well known classics with “Fly Me To The Moon”, “Over the Rainbow” and “Swinging on a Star”, plus Mendlessohn’s “Die Nachtigall”, a delightful Hawaian song of birds “E Nana Kakou I Na Manu” and the emotional piece, “Flying for the Joy of Flight”.
The Orchestra will take us on the “Ride of the Valkyries”, as well as immerse us in music from the movies “Up” and “Apollo 13” and with the “Harry Potter Symphonic Suite”. There is something for the whole family. The concert begins at 3 p.m. Tickets are $12 (Seniors $10) and all youth 17 and under are free. Tickets may be purchased at the door or through ovocmusic.org.
