A felony arrest warrant has been issued for a Bridgeport man who allegedly ran a stop sign and hit another vehicle, sending a five-month-old Okanogan girl to Harborview Medical Center and three other women to Okanogan Douglas Hospital.

A warrant has been issued for Javier Valdovinos Infante, 20, Bridgeport; he has been charged with three counts of vehicular assault. Valdovinos Infante allegedly is the driver of a 2002 Ford F150 pickup that ran the stop sign at the intersection of Tacoma Avenue and 21st Street and hit a van driven by Patricia Gomez Soriano, 24, Bridgeport on Friday afternoon, Oct. 31. The pickup's driver fled the scene on foot, but Douglas County Sheriff's deputies talked to witnesses and identified the driver, said Douglas County Undersheriff Don Culp.

Valdovinos Infante is described as 5 feet,9 inches tall, about 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. "Deputies have been unable to locate the suspect," Culp wrote in a press release. "It is believed he sustained injuries in the accident but the extent of those injuries is unknown."

Marissa Ornelas, five months old, of Okanogan was a passenger in Gomez Soriano's van; she was not in a car seat and sustained head injuries. She was airlifted to Harborview later that night.

Anyone who may have information on Valdovinos Infante's whereabouts is asked to contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, (509) 884-0941 or their local law enforcement agency.
