Strawberry fundraiser
Young Life strawberry fundraiser The Leavenworth Young Life group is selling strawberries (previously a Leavenworth Rotary Club fundraiser) to send kids to camp. Same great Washington fresh berries, 15 pound bucket for only $35. Order forms available at the Lake Chelan Mirror, 315 E. Celebrate Recovery meetings
Lake Chelan Celebrate Recovery Meets every Thursday at Little Stone Church, 2133 West Woodin Avenue. Dinner is at 6 p.m., cost is $3. Group meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by gender-specific small groups. Celebrate Recovery is a confidential, Biblically-based twelve step program for anyone struggling with addiction, co-dependency, gambling, relationships and other life issues. SCORE meetings
It isn't too late to obtain advice on some critical aspects of operating a business if you think you have a good idea for starting one. The Wenatchee office of SCORE, 2 S. Chelan, Wenatchee, (basement level) is holding "Lunch and Learn" work shops that address things you need to know. 1: Obtaining Financing, June 12; 2: Establishing a Marketing Plan, June 26, noon to 1 p.m. Fee of $15 is charged for each course, payable at the door. The Lions Club will have an evening meeting the last Thursday of each month (this month June 26, 6 p.m. in the Apple Cup Cafe banquet room. All other Thursdays their meetings will be at noon at the Apple Cup Cafe.

Summer reading program kickoff
Chelan Public Library will kickoff it Summer Reading Program on Friday, June 13, 11 a.m. at the library. Come in and sign up for the summer reading program and meet Oly. He is a 6 foot iguana who loves to be touched and petted. His friend Peri will tell you all about his habits. Oly will be available after the program for and meet and greet and photo ops. Kids 'Art in the Park'
Lake Chelan Arts Council kids 'Art in the Park' begins June 18 "Life Size Portraits", age: 7-12. Each student will create a full size body outline then finish it as they see themselves. June 27 "Blowing Bubbles", any age. Learn to make and blow bubbles in ways you never thought possible. Class location: Riverwalk Park covered picnic area. Registration/ fees: Students must pre-register at the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce and pay $5 per class registration fee. Bring your genealogical questions to Chelan Valley Genealogical Society's meeting on Saturday, June 21. Held in the Chelan Public Library at 11 a.m., the guest speaker will be Helen Cromar. Helen will demonstrate how to find answers online in familysearch.org. Everyone is welcome who wants to learn more about their family tree.

Saul Gallegos Memorial Run
Join the community at Singleton Park on Saturday, June 21, in Manson for this event.Walk the 3K, or run the 5K or 10K. Check in time is 6-7:45 a.m. On siteregistration closes at 8 a.m. Race at 8:30 a.m. Walk at approximately 8:35 a.m. Registration fee is $15 pre-race day; $25 race day on site. C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) free brunch will follow the race, everyone is welcome. All proceeds from the run will help fund scholarships for each of Gallegos' four sons. Century Challenge 
Take your pick of a 30, 60 or 100-mile bike ride through the picturesque Lake Chelan Valley starting in Chelan at the Don Morse Park on Saturday, June 21. The challenge provides a three-segment course of varying skill. Take in the sights of Navarre Coulee, Lake Chelan and McNeil Canyon. Visit www.centuryride.com
Cycle de Vine
Cycle de Vine occurs concurrently with the Century Challenge on Saturday, June 21. Riders travel more than 30 miles, stopping at several of the Lake Chelan Valley's wineries. The course starts in Don Morse Park in Chelan. Visit www.centuryride.com or www.chelancycledevine.com

Bench Rest competition
The next Bench Rest competition at the North Cascades Sportsman Club, located up Washington Creek, will be Sunday, June 22. The range will open at 8:30 a.m., with a shooter's meeting at 9:30 a.m. Competition begins at 10 a.m. Entry fee is $12 and includes all targets and lunch. There will be two classes of competition: Factory and Custom. Both groups will shoot together but scoring will be based on the class you are shooting.
